Meet Ms. Fischels

Hello! My name is Stacey Fischels and I am thrilled to be your child's teacher this year. I grew up in Mason City, Iowa with a family of many educators who inspired me to become a teacher. After completing high school I attended The University of Iowa as a proud Hawkeye. I then moved to the Chicago area to complete my student teaching in 2009 at Kingsley Elementary in Evanston. After graduating and earning my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading and Language Arts, I decided to stay in Chicago to pursue my career in education. In 2010 I started teaching kindergarten at St. Benedict Preparatory School in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago. I taught kindergarten for four years and then second grade for two years. In 2016 I was lucky to join the team at Kennedy and teach kindergarten for four years. I have now been teaching First Grade for three years at Kennedy. In 2019, I graduated from National Louis University with my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction as well as an endorsement in English as a Second Language. I am so excited to begin my thirteenth year in education! I love teaching  and can’t wait to meet every child in my class! In my free time, I enjoy visiting the lake, going to concerts, reading, and trying new restaurants. I am eager to start a successful school year at Kennedy Elementary.
